China Ocean Shipping Company known as COSCO is a Chinese state-owned shipping and logistics services supplier company. Headquartered in Beijing, COSCO owns 1,114 ships, including 365 dry bulk vessels, a container fleet with a capacity of 1,580,000 TEU, and a tanker fleet of 120 vessels. The fleet calls at over a thousand ports worldwide. It is one of China's top 15 brands and the largest liner carrier in China.

Hapag-Lloyd was one of NYSHEX’s original carrier members. They were first to pilot and test NYSHEX in early development days. NYSHEX’s newest carrier member, Maersk, is the world's largest container shipping company serving customers through 374 offices in 116 countries. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Maersk employs 7,000 seafarers and 25,000 land-based people, operating over 600 vessels with a total capacity of 2.6 million TEU.

Maersk is one of the first companies in global container shipping to push the digital agenda. Their involvement with NYSHEX as a founding member and investor supports their commitment to playing a leading role in digitizing the freight contracting process, as well as improving shipment reliability and continuously enhancing their customers’ experience.



Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) of Hong Kong is a large integrated international container transportation, logistics and terminal company with offices in 70 countries. OOCL has 59 vessels of different classes, with capacity varying from 2,992 TEU to 21,413 TEU, including two ice-class vessels for extreme weather conditions. They are a member of the Grand Alliance along with Hapag-Lloyd of Germany and NYK of Japan. OOCL offers around 78 weekly services around the world linking Asia, Europe, North America, the Mediterranean, the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. OOCL affiliated companies own or operate dedicated container terminals in North America and Asia.
